The actor will return in season 8 as Sansa Stark
Sophie Turner’s new tattoo could hint at what lies in store for her Game Of Thrones character’s future.
The actor plays Sansa Stark in the hit TV series, which will come to an end after season 8, which is due to air next year.
Turner recently got a new tattoo of a dire wolf and the words: “The pack survives.” Tattoo artist Lauren Winzer shared an image of her handiwork on the star’s body on Instagram, which you can see below.
The phrase has cropped up in George R.R. Martin’s books, on which the TV series is based, as well as in the show. “The lone wolf dies, but the pack survives,” Sansa told Arya in episode seven, season seven. The tattoo could be referencing either of those moments or, as some fans have speculated, what lies ahead in the new episodes.
Meanwhile, Martin has confirmed that one of the Game Of Thrones spin-off series has been scrapped, with only four new projects going ahead. In a blog, he wrote: “As for the other successor shows, if you have been following along, you know that we started with four and eventually went to five.
“One of those has been shelved, I am given to understand, and of course Jane [Goldman’s] pilot is now moving to film. But that does not mean the others are dead.”
A Game Of Thrones prequel series has also been ordered by HBO. The as-yet-untitled show will be set “thousands of years” before GoT and will reveal the “true origin of the white walkers”.
