Kevin Spacey to appear in first movie since sexual misconduct claims

The actor has had multiple sexual misconduct allegations levelled against him

Kevin Spacey is to appear in his first film since being accused of sexual misconduct.

The actor was accused last year of making sexual advances towards Star Trek actor Anthony Rapp when he was 14, with multiple more people coming forward with similar claims afterward. In two separate statements, Spacey said first that he did not recall the incident with Rapp, and later that he was “taking the time necessary to seek evaluation and treatment.”

Now, Spacey will star in Billionaire Boys Club playing real-life con artist Ron Levin. The movie, which also stars Taron Egerton, Emma Roberts, Suki Waterhouse, and Ansel Elgort, centres around a get-rich-quick scheme that targeted the families of Harvard students in Los Angeles in the early 1980s.

Billionaire Boys Club was filmed two years ago. It will be released in cinemas in July. Watch the trailer above.

After claims were made against Spacey last year, he was removed from All The Money In The World, with Christopher Plummer being drafted in to reshoot his scenes. Spacey was also fired from Netflix‘s House Of Cards. The show will now end with its next season, although it has been reported there could be several spin-offs produced in its wake.

Meanwhile, Morrissey recently gave his views on the allegations against Spacey, saying the claims don’t “sound very credible” and that the two-time Oscar winner is being “attacked unnecessarily”. Garbage‘s Shirley Manson hit back at the former Smiths frontman for his comments, saying he had “lost the fucking plot.”
