Liam Gallagher responds to whether he’s ‘better’ than Noel – and the answer may surprise you

This got fans pretty emotional

Liam Gallagher took to Twitter to pay tribute to his brother Noel, despite their ongoing feud.

While many feared the rivalry between the former Oasis bandmates showed no signs of abating, Liam surprised fans by going against his usual bravado with a rather sentimental response to one fan’s question on Twitter over the weekend.

“Is Noel better than you?,” put one follower to LG, before he replied: “There is no such thing as ‘better’. We are brothers. When we’re together no fucker, and I mean no fucker, comes close. OASIS FOR LIFE.”

Many fans then reacted to Liam’s heartfelt message:

Oasis fans grew hopeful of a ‘truce’ between the brothers last year when Liam appeared to reach out to Noel, however – it wasn’t meant to be. Despite tweeting last December that the siblings were “all good again”, Liam has now revealed that that wasn’t actually the case and that they’ve “not made up” at all.

“In my head [we called a truce],” Liam told NME. “‘Cos it’s Christmas innit and me mam’s always going, ‘Look, calm down,’ so I had a couple of drinks and thought, you know, I’ll put it out there. But it’s not happening, is it?”

Responding to a rumour that the brothers had patched things up at swanky London hangout Chiltern Firehouse, Liam said: “No, no – I went there and he wasn’t there. He wasn’t meant to be there, but that’s where him and all his posh mates go, so I thought I’d steam down there and see what they gotta say.”

“I just went down there looking for a bit of trouble and that but there was none of ’em about,” Liam explained. “They were all probably at home, counting their money.”

Meanwhile, this weekend saw Liam Gallagher complete touring for his acclaimed debut solo album ‘As You Were’ with huge shows at London’s Finsbury Park and TRNSMT Festival in Scotland. Now, Gallagher will return to the studio to complete work on his ‘biblical’ second album –  claiming that he hopes to have the record finished  by Christmas 2018.

He added: “I think we’ll do these albums and then I’ll have a bit of a break and get out of everyone’s hair – and have a breather – and then do a third one if the second one goes well.”
