“Nice one, bruva!” – ‘Human Traffic’ 20th anniversary to be marked with massive dance party in Cardiff

Organisers promise “a party vibe that will send you right back in time”

Cardiff is set to stage a huge dance event to celebrate Human Traffic turning 20 next year.

As Wales Online reports, the cult club culture movie that put the Welsh capital on the dance music map will be celebrated with a party at the city’s Tramshed on Saturday, April 6 2019. Tickets for the event are available here.

Human Traffic helped propel actors John Simm and Danny Dyer to stardom following its release in 1999.

The 20th anniversary celebration is being billed as “a dance music experience like no other”, by organisers Slip N Slide Events. The party will include a walkabout cinema screening of the movie followed by a club night.

Ben Lovell of Slip N Slide Events told Wales Online: “I’ve been a huge fan of the movie ever since it was released and as we have been involved in dance music events for the last 20 years and more recently cinema events as well, the idea of combining the two into an event seemed like the perfect thing to do to celebrate the movie’s 20th anniversary.

“As the movie was based in Cardiff, it seemed only fitting to have the celebration in the city and the event is supported by the movie’s director Justin Kerrigan.”

The Tramshed will be decorated with UV Club décor to mimic ’90s dancefloors. The venue will also have confetti cannons and stage dancers, and will sell old school drinks.

“There will be a party vibe that will send you right back in time,” added Lovell. “Strictly happy party people only.”

Back in 2016, Danny Dyer hinted at a potential sequel to the cult classic movie. It was reported that a Facebook page had been launched to promote a second instalment, titled Human Traffic: The Revolution.
