Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi are executively-producing the TV version of their 2014 cult film
The first set of teaser clips for the forthcoming TV adaptation of What We Do In The Shadows have arrived – check out the clip below.
The 2014 vampire movie parody – which was written and directed by Taika Waititi and Flight of the Conchords‘ Jemaine Clement – has become a cult hit among movie fans over the past five years, and a TV version was commissioned in January 2018 by FX.
What We Do In The Shadows will star Fonejacker‘s Kayvan Novak and Toast of London‘s Matt Berry among the main cast, and will follow “three vampires in New York City who have been roommates for hundreds and hundreds of years”.
The first set of teaser clips for the forthcoming show have now been released online, giving a quick glimpse of the new cast – including Novak as the vampire Nandor.
What We Do In The Shadows has been executively produced by both Clement and Waititi, while the two have also written for the new show. It is expected to premiere in the US in March.
As well as the new series, another spin-off from the original What We Do In The Shadows is currently in the works – with Waititi and Clement working on a theatrical sequel called We’re Wolves, which will focus on the Rhys Darby-led group of werewolves from the movie.
