According to Forbes, The Walking Dead scriptwriter Melissa Scrivner-Love will be at the helm of the American remake of the K-drama.

Actress Ronda Rousey will star in the remake

The original drama, which also starred Hyungsik and Ji Soo, told the story of a woman, Do Bong Soon, who was born with incredible strength. She hides her superhuman power from her crush, fearing that he wouldn’t like her if he knew the truth.

However, casting news from Deadline suggests that the remake will deviate considerably from the original.

According to the siteStrong Girl is “an adaptation of a Korean format [that will follow] a former war photographer named Rayna who discovers she is indestructible and potentially the strongest woman in the world.”

Strong Woman Do Bong Soon is not the first k-drama to be adapted for American television, with the award winning The Good Doctor proving popular with audiences in 2013.
