Pete Davidson discusses worrying Instagram message on ‘Saturday Night Live’

The comedian sparked concern for his mental health in December

Pete Davidson spoke out about his worrying social media posts as he appeared on yesterdays edition of Saturday Night Live.

Fans of the comedian were left concerned for his wellbeing last month after he posted a message that read: “I really don’t want to be on this Earth anymore.”

He added: “I’m doing my best to stay here for you but I actually don’t know how much longer I can last. All I’ve ever tried to do was help people. Just remember I told you so.”

Davidson was later accounted for by police and his employers.

Appearing in the Weekend Update segment of SNL last night, Davidson has talked about the post in a brief discussion with John Mulaney.

“I’ve been spending time with Pete to try to show him that you can have a life in comedy that is not insane,” Mulaney said. “A sober, domestic life.”

Making light of the situation, Davidson replied: “Yeah, and after observing John’s life, I publicly threatened suicide.

“I’m sorry, I know I shouldn’t make that joke.”

Mulaney then said: “Look me in the eye. You are loved by many and we are glad you are okay.” See the video above.

Earlier this month, Pete Davidson returned to stand-up with a routine that took aim at shamed SNL comedian Louis C.K.

The comeback set saw Davidson addressing his split from Ariana Grande, but he reportedly focused on tackling C.K. – who has recently returned to stand-up after admitting a string of sexual harassment allegations.
