Daniel Radcliffe says he’d be “fascinated to watch” a ‘Harry Potter’ reboot

“I know I’m not the last Harry Potter I’m gonna see in my lifetime”

Daniel Radcliffe has admitted that he would be “fascinated to watch” a Harry Potter film or TV reboot in the near future.

The actor rose to fame as the titular wizard in the multi-film adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s novels, which concluded in 2011 with the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.

Rowling’s Wizarding World continues to be ripe ground for directors and writers, with examples including the Fantastic Beasts film series and the two-part play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Asked about the distant possibility of the original Harry Potter books being rebooted for a future TV or film series, Radcliffe told IGN he was “sure [that] there will be some other version of it”.

“I know I’m not the last Harry Potter I’m gonna see in my lifetime – we’ve already got a few more,” Radcliffe said, presumably in reference to Jamie Parker and Gareth Reeves – who have both played adult Harry on stage in the Cursed Child.

“It will be interesting to see how long those films stay… it feels like there’s a sacredness around them at the moment, but that’ll go, the shine will wear off at some point,” he added with a laugh.

“It’ll be interesting if they reboot them and just do the films again or do a series; I’m fascinated to watch.”

Last week, Radcliffe revealed which Harry Potter book and film is his favourite – admitting that his choice wasn’t “a lot of people’s favourite”.
