Steven Rifkind confirms he’s working with Wu-Tang Clan for their new album on Loud Records


It is their first record since 2015’s ‘Once Upon a Time in Shaolin’

Steven Rifkind has confirmed that a new Wu-Tang Clan album is in the works.

The co-founder of Loud Records, the label that helped launch Wu-Tang’s career as well as Mobb Deep’s, Three 6 Mafia, and Big Pun, shared an image on his Instagram yesterday (March 14) which revealed the news.

He captioned the photograph, which shows a to-do list with tasks including “Wutang album”, with: “This is what we are working on let me know what you are excited the most about.”

In other Wu-Tang news, the rap legends join Public Enemy and De La Soul on an arena tour in the UK and Ireland this spring to celebrate anniversaries of the acts’ landmark hip-hop albums.

The ‘Gods Of Rap’ tour will call at UK and Ireland arena shows together at The SSE Arena Wembley on May 10, Manchester Arena on May 11, Glasgow The SSE Hydro on May 12, Dublin’s 3Arena on Tuesday May 14. Further dates have also been added throughout Europe.

Elsewhere, a new documentary-series about the Clan is premiering later this year.

Directed by Sacha Jenkins, Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men has been acquired by US television network Showtime.

The four-part series will explore the rise of the ground-breaking rap group and will feature interviews with each of its nine surviving members.
