Drake’s childhood note goes on sale for $7,500

The Canadian rapper also lists his idols

A childhood note handwritten by Drake has gone up for sale for $7,500 (£5,725).

In the handwritten message reportedly to his mother, the Canadian star – full name Aubrey Drake Graham – promises to clean his room in return for lifts in the mornings.

“I will clean my room when I come home,” he scribes alongside his signature on the note, which you can view below.

The then aspiring rapper also lists his achievements for his future biography, saying that he “sings, acts and raps” and that he “lives for music” before listing his favourite artists as Will Smith, Notorious BIG, Jay Z, Usher and Al Green

According to TMZ, the note been taken from an old rhyme book which was found in a rubbish bin near his grandfather’s old furniture factory in Toronto, where he used to work.

It is being sold off by memorabilia company Moments in Time.

Meanwhile, the rapper recently responded to comments made by Wiley calling him a ‘culture vulture’ for stopping by various UK artists’ shows and bringing a host of them out on his tour, including J Hus, Krept & Konan, Afro B, Dave and Fredo.

“It is what it is.” Drake began. “I see a lot and I’ll never understand how supporting somebody’s song or even going a step further and giving somebody a song or linking up…I’ll never understand how that’s not viewed as something admirable but I guess people have their own outlook on it.”

Meanwhile, Drake recently announced that he’s started writing his next album.

The Toronto rapper last week (April 9) told the crowd at one of the London dates of his Assassination Tour tour, that he has begun working on his new record.
