“(Crying my eyes out)”
Bebe Rexha has announced that she has bipolar disorder.
The ‘I’m A Mess’ singer revealed she has the condition in a series of tweets yesterday (April 15) in which she explained how certain behaviours led to the diagnosis.
“For the longest time, I didn’t understand why I felt so sick. Why I felt lows that made me not want to leave my house or be around people and why I felt highs that wouldn’t let me sleep, wouldn’t let me stop working or creating music. Now I know why,” she wrote.
She added that she no longer feels “ashamed” of her condition nor asks for the public’s sympathy. Rather, she wishes for people to “accept” her.
“I don’t want you to feel sorry for me. I just want you to accept me. That’s all. Love you,” she wrote.
With the announcement also came the news that Rexha is working on new music.
“This next album will be favorite album ever because I’m not holding anything back. I love you all very much. And I hope you accept me as I am,” she added.
On Sunday (April 14) Rexha shared a video on Instagram in which she said she was trying not to get “super competitive” about the charts and monitoring her success online.
